    Can anyone help?

My tumble dryer has stopped working, when switched on I get the red power light on front, but when I press the start button I hear a hum from motor but the drum does not turn.
I have disconnected the belt from the motor and the motor still will not turn, plus I have now removed the motor from base, to check fan not jammed and it will still not turn or if it does it is vey slow.

I have established the one of the heater thermostats is open circuit, it is the one marked with higher temp, so I guess it is the TOC that has tripped. However if I temporarily loop it out the motor still does not turn or if it does it is very slow and with no power. How can I identify whether it is the motor or motor control board.

    Thanks

there is an 8uF capacitor that starts the motor. common fault on a lot of tumble dryers

cant promise i am right but its over 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} probable

Thanks dave, the guys at work also suggested same, but when checked the resistance of the motor, it was really low and changed after another test run, so I am reasonably sure some of the windings have failed. New motor now on order, I hope this fixes it a new capacitor would certainly have been cheaper. Thanks again for your help.
