I’m hoping you can help, because I’ve exhausted all other sources. We’ve had a Haier washing machine HW-C1470TVEME-F for several years and it functions just fine. There is one big, annoying problem, though, and we’ve never been able to find any information on it from the manufacturer — let alone a solution. After each cycle ENDs, there is an alarm (a very loud one) that beeps 5 times, then stops. OK, that’s fine, very useful. But we can’t always stop what we’re doing and tend to the machine, right? So if we don’t turn off the power, 10 minutes later, it beeps 5x again. And every 10 minutes thereafter, WITHOUT CEASING, the alarm will go off — until we turn off the power and open the door. Which means we can’t run the machine at night because the alarm would keep us (and the the neighbors) awake! This is not only annoying, it means we can’t take advantage of off-peak electricity hours, so it’s costing us money. The user manual has NO mention of an alarm at all. I’ve looked online elsewhere and can’t seem to find a solution for my machine. Can anyone here help? This is driving us nuts.

Re: How to disable end-of-cycle alarm on Haier HW-C1470TVEME

I’m happy to say I have managed to answer my own question! A bit more research revealed the online manual for a different model of Haier washing machine which contained instructions for disabling (or re-enabling) the machine’s beeping alarm. (Note: if you disable it, it will also be silent when you’re pressing buttons to program a laundry cycle.)

    Here’s how to do it:

    1) Set the machine on the Spin cycle (“Essorage” in French – I live in Paris and our machine is labeled accordingly).

    2) Press and hold the “Delay” button (“Départ Différé” in French) for 3 seconds. On the display “b OFF” should appear. (Where the lower case “b” I suppose means “beep”.)

That’s all it takes! If you want to reactivate the alarm/beep, just do the same thing and the display will toggle to “b ON”.

    Et voila! 😀
