Hi I have a problem with a Zanussi FJ1454W, We bright it 2nd hand of a friend where it was working fine, We’ve broght it home and installed it.

When first installed it turned on and lit up the lights like it was ready to wash. So using the skip/reset button we cleared it. loaded some washing powder in to the tray and went to run it on a empty wash to clean it out, but it wont alow us to select any any program/temperature or operation, It powers on fine, soon as the door it closed it locked and you have to turn it off for 5 mins to allow it to unlock.

Has anyone got an idea whats gone wrong? I cant see how moving it 10 miles down the road has broken it 🙁

    Thanks

    Chris

But we suspect it has IF you transported it without its transit bolts in place and not in the upright position.

Very often people transport washing machines on their sides with the drum unsecured. That means that wiring gets damaged, components become detached, water can gets spilled on the electronics and into the air pressure system. In fact any manner of events could happen and may well have occurred in this case. 🙁

I had a similar fault on one of these. Check that the start button or any of the options buttons have been jammed in

Yes when it was brought over to us it was on its side 🙁 nothing looks damp on the inside and I checked the connections and they seem good. But I understand it could of dammaged it elsewhere.

I checked the buttons they all seem to move freely. When depressed you can hear it make a quite click like its pushing on a microswitch.
