The drum motor does not run at any point in the cycle. Test on spin and the controller applies power to the motor and it sounds like it is ramping up the current without the motor turning, then the motor abruptly stops. The system pauses for a few seconds and repeats the cycle of starting the motor. It then quits and does nothing further.

The drain pump and filter are clear. An underwire has been removed from the drum drain hose.

    Water fill works OK.
    Drain pump works OK.
The drum is free to turn by hand in both directions.
    Commutator looks OK.

Is this a shunt wound motor? If brushes have failed, this would explain why the motor still sounds as though it is trying to run.

Have you checked the brushes as I’d have thought that the most likely cause?

    Hi Kwatt

Yes, I have already checked the brushes. They are like new.

    Thanks
