    Hi folks

Been to this today – customer says aborting heating cycle after 20min.

Into diagnostics and coming up with last recorded fault as e73. Hadn’t got a manual with that fault code but later when I got home found that was T/Dry duct NTC.

Before I go back to change that just a bit confused to why this affected the condenser water valve as it was inoperative and initially thought this was the fault. When tested in diagnostic it worked fine but pcb failed to activate it during the drying cycle yet it put the dryer heater on?

I would have thought if the NTC was faulty it would have aborted the drying program fairly quickly and not waited 20 min?

Checked the air flow rate on the dry cycle and that seemed fine so I don’t think it is blocked condenser – also checked for the popular earth fault on the dryer heaters and they were clear.

Just seems a bit weird that the dryer NTC would affect the condenser valve and time wise aborting the program due to lack of water flow in condenser rather than it detecting the duct NTC is faulty and aborting quickly.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

I think you may be applying too much theory into this Mick TBH. The dryer duct NTC should read approx 5Kohm at ambient. Likewise the condenser NTC has a similar resistance. It is worth reminding you that the dryer duct NTC controls the heat whereas the dryer duct NTC controls the drying time. Therefore I would suggest you check the latter AND the condenser for blockage problems when you go back and replace the dryer duct NTC. 😉

    Thanks for the reply Martin.

Sorry for late update. Did go back and change duct NTC to no avail – condenser valve still not activating. Checked condenser NTC and condenser for blockages but all seemed ok. Suspect some weird pcb fault but customer not prepared to pay for new one so just using as washing machine only.

    Thanks for the help

    Mick
