The washing machine is about 17-18 yeas old and the pump works fine (I replaced that 6 years ago), but the drum doesn’t turn.
Just wondering if its likely to be the motor brushes that need replacing, and if so what’s the easiest way to access the motor to change the brushes?

Many thanks,

I can see one bolt on the back of the motor, which is the best way to get to the other bolt (which I presume is on the front)? Is it removing the panel on the bottom of the washing machine?

The other bolt is the one above the pulley

That’s the one I can see by removing the back panel on the washing machine, its the other one I’m looking for.

Sorry the other bolt is same position as the first but is bolted from behind. If you put you’re hand behind the right hand side you will feel it

If I put my hand round the side of the motor I cant seem to locate a bolt on the end of the motor that faces the front of the washing machine. Do I need to remove the bottom panel on the washing machine to gain access maybe?

No, just undo it from the back!

Nope as Martin says. It’s there at the back

Andy, Martin – many thanks for your help.
Compared to the new brushes, the old ones were very worn.

Anyway, its all back together again and runs very smoothly indeed. 😀 -
