    Hi all, hope you can assist me with a repair I’m doing.
    The conditioner wasn’t being taken on a hotpoint Aquarius plus WDD740.
    After cleaning the dispenser tray and inlet holes with no success, I had help from your article on a failed water inlet to find there was an open circuit on the middle solenoid.
    I did notice that the blue cables going to this were a little ‘sooty’.
    Is this something I should be worried about before replacing valve?
    I have a picture but the file is too big to upload!

    It shouldn’t be, why can’t you reduce the picture file size?

    Thanks, I’ve cropped original, it’s a bit blurry but I hope discolouration can be seen.

    As long as the cable and the connector plug look clean then I would go ahead and fit the new valve. If the cables where originally blue then it looks as though they may need cutting back and replacing.
