    On Friday, my fridge freezer sounded an alarm and the alarm light was also flashing. I noticed that the temperature was dropping in both the fridge and freezer compartments. I have cleared all the food out and unplugged for 36 hours and when turned on this morning it still had the flashing alarm light.

    It has now been on for a good 5 hours and the thermometers I have placed in both compartments are not showing any signs of it getting cold at all. The fridge light comes on OK and can hear the compressor buzzing away. Any ideas? or can anyone recommend an engineer in the Southend-On-Sea area who can fix it?

    It does sound like you need an engineer to be honest. Have you used the engineer search facility on this site?

    Hi

    It sounds like either the system has lost it’s refrigerant which would be unusual or possible freezer evaperator sensor has failed.
