ParticipantHi guys, I’m faced with an error code and i can’t seem to google my way out of it. Upon turning on of the machine the doorlock led blinks and the top two ones are contently on (picture – http://i.imgur.com/FenwFGu.jpg).
The machine isn’t willing to do anything. Prior to this it worked fine.Anyone has an idea what this is?
Machine was bought in israel so the model code might be different in the UK, but you’re the only board that seems to deal aristons that i could find 🙁

Error codes on these are given by flashing those lights so either the buttons are stuck in or there has been a pcb/software failure.
Always worth checking the motor brushes, assuming it is not a 3 phase motor machine. The model number does not show up on our software here in the UK.

Hi first of all, thanks for the quick reply.
A technition is here, he checked the temp sensor for the washer and it’s fine.
However, after plugging it back in, the same two lights that were contently on now are blinking. When you say a button is stuck what do you mean? We hardly used those buttons.
And if it’s a pcb/software failure is there anything that can be done to verify?EDIT: Tech says engine brushes seem fine.

Those two lights flashing signify a communications error. Check and tighten all the connectors between the two pcb’s

All connections seem to be fine. :

Earth faults on the motor and heating element can throw up strange error codes, if all that checks out then you are left with the possibility of failed pcb. The electronics in the Indesit machines are known to be very weak and unreliable.

Is it possible to find replacement electronics on ebay and give em to a tech to insall? Since i know they are really pricey to buy around here.
And i’ll make sure to check the earth faults.

Very unlikely. There are countless different pcb’s that all have to be programmed before using the machine. A very costly exercise as this has to be done by an Indesit engineer with the software on his laptop or by buying the PCB, a one use only smartcard and a card reader to use the smartcard to programme the PCB.
Average cost for those is approx £200 here in the UK.There are a couple of UK companies who will test and repair these, however that is not much help to you.

The machine cost me ~500GBP, so shilling out another 200 (and it’s gonna be more, due to import and taxes) really bums me out.

All Indesit group products have a fairly poor reputation here the UK sadly, the near equivalents of that model retailed at around £250 or less over here. 🙁

Ok, so i got an estimate for a PCB replacement, it’s roughly 1/5 the price of a new one.
Now considering I’ve got the bearings changed and the PCB, is there anything else that usually dies in 4-6 years, or should i be good for a while?

Motor, heater and pump usually self destruct within that time frame. So consider every successful wash load from now on in a bonus!

Main question right now is should i go for the fix, or get a new machine (which prolly won’t have a drier) from a company that’s less infamous.
