Not really had this problem before, now twice in three days.

Both Zanussi washers, one a ZWF, can’t remember the other one. both with no motor action, E52 on diagnostics.

Motor brushes completely worn away on both. Cleaned comm, fitted new brushes and set to spin. Motor ran very smoothly for about 5 seconds then stopped. Same on wash programme, leave it a minute and try again and the same thing happens. It’s as though the motor TOC is cutting out, does that seem likely?

    Jim.

Very likely Jim as motor gets red hot as the worn brushes arc like hell. TOC connections are usually terminals 6 & 7.

Funny I have never encountered this before or maybe just lucky, the trouble is by the time I manage to get to the motor the TOC will more than likely have reset and both customers are not up to paying for a new motor in any event. 🙁

EDIT, the customer I went to today has rung to tell me that she has just paid £80.00 for a Bosch washer from Gum Tree. :eeek:

You could always short out those TOC terminals the moment it trips. 💡

I will consider that next time. 😉
