I have just replaced the heating element on my Beko tumble dryer. When I have ran the appliance the top 2 coils on the heating element glow a bright orange and produce heat for around 5 seconds. There is then a click internally in the appliance and the top 2 coils in the heating element stop producing heat and seem to ‘turn off’. Any ideas what the problem is?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would think that one of the thermostats is faulty and it’s tripping out on the overheat.

Thanks for your response. Where is the thermostat located? I’ve removed the bulge cover to expose the heating element however do I need to remove the back cover to locate the thermostat?

I’ve not worked on one so I don’t know for sure but, often on or near the heater.

the element will cut out as you describe if you run it with the cover off, refit the cover and try again, should be ok. the thermostats are part of the element and will have come with the new element
