ParticipantMorning all.
I put the machine on 30 deg wash and after filling up and spinning a couple of times the electrics tripped.
Narrowed it down to washing machine.
Put machine on drain. Completed cycle no problem
Put machine on spin. Completed cycle no problem.
Put machine on COLD wash. Completed no problem.
Put machine on 30 deg wash. Tripped fuse box.
Would I be right in thinking it’s more than likely a fault with the heating element ?
Is this a job I could complete myself bearing in mind my DIY skills are just about bodger level ?
I realise there’s only so much advice you can give but would be grateful for any and all replies.
Thanks very much in advance.

Oh I’m sure you’re up for it Bodger, after all your pseudonym alone stands out as someone up for a challenge such as this. Clue for starters : Access to heater via front panel removal…..GOOD LUCK

Thanks for the reply Martin.
Well, I’ve taken the top off and removed the front top panel (where the controls are).
However, to remove the big front panel I will need to tip the machine onto its side to access the screws (which are on the bottom of the machine).
This is different from all of the videos I’ve seen on espares/you tube etc. .
This doesn’t sound right to me but there’s no other way to get the panel off.
Thanks in advance

Tip it backwards slightly to remove the screws at the bottom then the whole panel slides down!

Thanks Martin – needed to tip it back a bit further but I’m all set.
Hopefully the part will arrive today and bish.bosh.bash I’ll be up and running sometime tomorrow.
Not looking forward to putting it back together but so far so good – even if it has taken me five days to get this far. Is this a record?
Thanks for your time – defo saved me a few quid.

All sorted and unbelievably the machine is working without tripping the fusebox.
Easy peasy.
Cheers

I suggest you seek out a plumbers forum on the Interweb then.

Just want to say thanks to Bodger123 for posting this question. I have this exact problem with a Bosch Exxcel Machine (6 years old last August).
I Googled the problem and found this thread. 😀
I have sourced the part on espares and the husband will be watching the video to install it himself.
Watch this space – I will update….. 😆

Job done. The door came off a bit differently to the YouTube video but he got there in the end. The element was wedged into the machine due to the amount of limescale but it eventually came out with a bit of brute force.
So glad I found this thread. 😀
