ParticipantIt looks like our 8 yr old AEG has died so we need another.
Ideally I’d like as simple a machine as we can get but of the best quality.
I want as few flashing lights, led screens etc as poss for up to £600. My feeling is that the more complex the machine the faster it will go wrong and lets face it we probably use 2 or 3 programs.
Considering the ISE (ok they are a bit more) but would like to know more about Gorenje.
Anyone add some info?Thanks

Both are produced from the same factory in Slovenia.

Interesting, thanks.
Same parts do you think?
5 yr guarantee (Gorenje) is a nice touch at present.November 5, 2013 at 4:58 pm #404024kwatt

No no no, different products entirely and no parts the same. The ISE formally came from their Asko factory in Sweden.

5 yr guarantee (Gorenje) is a nice touch at present.Retail on the Gorenje is circa £450, 5 year guarantee with a lifespan of 6-8 years.
On the other hand the ISE W256 retails at £899, has a 10 year guarantee with a lifespan of 15-20 years.
If I were in the market for a new washer I’d be looking right here 😉

The W256 meets all our requirements but a little digging on the net does bring up a number of unhappy campers regarding the warranty.
Now I don’t believe everything I read and I am very aware that the customer certainly isn’t always right but perhaps someone could tell me exactly what I should expect?
As a small company it needs to be service driven so come on people of ukwhitegoods, sell it to me.November 5, 2013 at 8:00 pm #404028kwatt

There’s an old saying, you can’t please all the people… 😉
There are a few people that are unhappy, yes there are. Out of those there are perhaps one or two that maybe have a justifiable gripe depending on your point of view and then there are a few that both they and we have had hassles with the insurer used until 2010.
The issues that we see and, we’re very open about it, tend to be centred around what people think should be covered and what actually is covered. What is covered by the warranty is mechanical or electrical failure and the warranty T&Cs are very clear about it as I am also trying to be here.
What it doesn’t cover is people overloading machines and wrecking them, using mad detergents that don’t work well or over foam, people blocking the machines up with whatever that shouldn’t be in there in the first place such as coins, nails, screws, kids toys and so on. I’m sure you get the idea and that a lot of “faults” aren’t really what they may be purported to be.
There have been a few people that, haven’t read the warranty conditions and appear to have assumed that it covered almost everything from nothing at all wrong to the machines being utterly trashed by misuse in commercial use mainly.
Then, in order to punish, they publish whatever on the interweb and there’s not a thing that we can do.
If we reply and tell the truth or the other side of the story, we look spiteful.
If we say nothing then those “reviews” are out there unchecked and it puts people off ISE.
If you look carefully though you will see that most are copy/paste jobs often posted on any site possible but, interestingly, not on here where people that know the machines and likely the circumstances are.
Probably most brands suffer from the same, like Samsung on Which?, Miele on a number of threads online and so on. Often centred around the same kind of things.
What I will say is that we have done as much as we can and always will for anyone with any issue offering as much support as possible. What we can’t do is cover for every single eventuality and, from a personal perspective, I’d think that an unreasonable expectation of any warranty.
I do understand that the answer may not be all sweetness and light but, it is an honest answer and I hope clear enough.

Thanks K.
I’m not after sweetness and light just the bottom line.
What is the position with the insurer now or do you no longer use one (or them).
Do you have a link to the T+Cs?November 5, 2013 at 10:55 pm #404030kwatt

No problem.
Insurance stuff is here, published last year…
http://iseappliances.co.uk/index.php/ab … -statement
But we stopped that in September of 2010 if I recall.
Warranty T&Cs are here…
http://iseappliances.co.uk/index.php/su … ntee-terms
We’ve tried to be as plain speaking and straight as humanly possible.
