And this bit that I typed all those years ago will mean sod all to anyone reading it.

To save my keyboard and avoid RSI these can be read in conjunction with Dave Conway’s post on page 3 of this thread regarding WIDL codesAll the really honest and reputable trade members usually just put a link to UKWG’s on their website, they don’t copy and paste huge chunks without giving any acknowledgement of original source. 😉

just had a look at the website in above post and was amazed to see he recommends using soda crystals with every wash to reduce limescale….
as i remember soda dissolves aluminium eg drum spidersother than the piracy a bright looking website

Being a one man band I’ve never really thought there is much point to a website, I certainly wouldn’t tag it on to another site if I had one. Maybe one day I will get dragged into the 21st century 🙂

All that does is make it easier for the public to diagnose and have a go at repairing their own appliances which in turn takes the work off the skilled engineers, not very helpful. ❓ ❓

Really?
This argument has been had many times before and there is zero evidence to support that notion. Lots of rhetoric, no evidence.
I would ask that you pause, think, then talk.
Without a clue about diagnostics fault codes are about as useful as a chocolate fireguard at best and in some, if not many cases, a red herring.
It actually helps if they’re out there in many ways.

Not saying its a massive problem, but along with the likes of you tube and even this website we do make it easier for people to repair at home themselves.
Plus point for me is hopefully we can make it safer for them to do so

The most you can do is fire off an email asking them not to do it unless you want to go thermonuclear and take legal action.
Given that the dude appears to display a complete disregard for IP infringement I doubt that would do much, if any good unless option two was chosen.

It all depends on who wins and who looses.
Whoever does the work hates it copied and those who copy see no wrong in it.
Those that sell parts see no issue in releasing fault codes or how to videos and those who don’t hate it.
So l see it makes sense really to do a web page, copy the info snd start selling parts and tech info.;-)
