The Dishwasher has been playing up and finally died.
If you bashed the top right hand corner of the door 😀 you can sometimes get it to come back on. Its quite old now.
I took the door front off and got at the switch mechanism the mains contacts appeared corroded so I thought it would be that. However after stripping the switch and cleaning and putting back together still no go and if you check with a meter the mains seems to be there. However now its completly dead. (I can bash away and nothing!) Now I have a predicament do I order a swtitch for £51.50 and it might not be that or just bin it an buy a new one. I have had good use out of it and a pump went 2 years ago costing £100. Or do I get an engineer to fix? Any suggestions of what it might be and if you say buy a new one what do you recommend?
The switch contacts on the Push Button Unit are never possible to repair. Replacement the only option. Also the door latch microswitch is another likely troublespot. The wiring harness adjacent the door hinge another load of trouble!!!
Time to call it a day and buy a new Bosch or get that much needed part and take a chance something else could go wrong :con:
Thanks for the advice Martin.
I did check the Microswitch. My gut feeling was time to call it a day as well. I will look into another Bosch? Then They are the best new machines?
Thankyou for your help and what an excellent site.
