ParticipantI have a Siemen’s dishwasher model SE25M851GB bought in March 2007
It stopped working in January 2011 – the “check water” warning light came on and no water came into the system.
I performed all the checks as advised in the Instruction Book to no avail.
I had a local domestic appliance service company come out who said that, I quote “Too much water pressure has caused the seals to leak water into bottom of machine, so the safety mechanism has kicked in”. He diagnosed that there was too much pressure in the system caused by the zeolite chamber being blocked.
This surprised me as I live in a soft water area.
I had a new zeolite chamber installed. This appeared to rectify the problem on the first go when the installer was present, but didn’t work again after!!!
Due to me working abroad immediately after that I didn’t get chance to get the guy back. I have not used the dishwasher since.
I would like to start using the machine again, but it still has the original problem: “check water” warning light comes on and no water enters the machine.
Any ideas?November 8, 2013 at 5:09 pm #404161Martin

I would venture to suggest that the zeolite chamber (I guess you mean water softener unit?) was NOT the reason for the check water light coming on. But rather the Impellor jug is the more likely cause as shown HERE. Replace that and all will be well.
P.S I’ve never ever had to change the water softener unit and in a soft water area that would never ever be required anyway. :rolls:

Thanks for your advice.
Yes, the zeolite chanber is the water softner.
The jug impeller sounds cheap enough. How easy is it for me to install? I tried to look for a utube video to show me how to replace on this Siemens machine, but coun’t find one.November 9, 2013 at 8:22 pm #404163Martin

It’s a tricky thing to instal but if you have a good grasp of electro-mechanical repairs then worth a try. Or call another local guy in to sort it ( but not the last one I would suggest) 😀
