    Hi folks

Just trying to figure out what’s wrong with this fridge.

Basically, it starts beeping every 6 hours or so, and the fridge compartment isn’t sufficiently cold. Seems a common issue with this units is the freezer compartment fan dying, which I initially suspected was the issue. Inspecting the fan, the wire insulation was worn through, but the actual wires seemed ok, and a 9v battery test suggested it was working. I also switched the fridge & freezer compartment fans, and this suggested that both fans worked fine. They both spun when connected inside the fridge compartment, but neither when connected inside the freezer (which seems strange as its the fridge that isn’t cooling).

In service mode, the input/output door status lights suggest that the reed switches are working fine, and the PC/FC sensor temp measurements seem reasonable. However I’m not exactly sure on the the service mode fault codes, as the information in the service manual I found seems somewhat inconsistent.

The fridge also beeps when I first turn it on. I’m suspecting it’s an issue with the control module (where is this located btw?).

    Any help highly appreciated!

    thanks
    john

hi folks, just following up here.

had the f&p tech out (nice guy!), and my hunch was correct and it was an issue with the control board. replaced now, and all working fine.

    control board $132
    tech call out $135
    total: $267
