Lg DD motor problem

    Hi been to see lg DD wm-12225fd today and the drive is jerky and noisy when loaded , is there a capacitor I can get to or it is a total motor job

    bit more complex than that

    this is a direct drive motor that is driven by a module that creates a variable frequency 3 phase supply

    so no capacitor. its either the motor windings gone or the module only giving out 2 phases

    you can check all wires and connections to motor in case you get lucky. think this motor is guarenteed for 10 years from lg but you would have to check. check motor windings with your meter for resistance etc

    Thanks Dave , I’m not that familiar with the lg direct drive but I did check module connections etc , have a feeling it’s the motor at fault so will check windings

    Also worth taking the rotor off the end of the shaft so that you can check whether the splines have stripped which can cause it to slip on the shaft.

    could be the Hall Sensor
