ParticipantHi
I wonder if anyone can help – I have a 3 year old Candy built-in-oven which is blowing out fairly cold air so suspect the element has gone. I haven’t a manaual that shows what type of element it is (i.e. 2000/2200 or 2500 wattage but I know it has 3 outer rings) and whether it can be removed from inside the oven – I couldn’t see any retaining screw inside holding the plate so suspect it’s a strictly rear job only!
The make is PL2230/3x Prod code 33800594 but I can’t seem to locate any spare parts fro this oven or as to what type of element is needed and how to access it.
Any help much appreciated. 😀

I’m afraid that’s the model number for the hob, not the oven.
If you have a look around the inside of the oven door opening there should be a rating plate there with all the details that you need on it.

Hi Kwatt
Thanks for your reply – I couldn’t see a rating plate but will have a good look again tonight. There was a guarantee slip I found that came with it (out of date and all in italian) which quoted model PL 40 AX and a further code no 33800588 – would that be the oven make? If not I’ll re-check later.
Cheers

Hi,
PL40X is another hob I’m afraid.
Best to always check the rating plate anyway, instruction books and receipts often tell lies.

I think it should be FPP 403 X. 😉
Fan oven element is this one: http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/2015-fan-oven-element
That’s the cheap version, the “genuine” part is almost three times that price.
From what I can see you can get to it without pulling the oven out, there will be a plate in front of the element to the rear of the oven cavity that has a few screws in it. Take them out and manoeuvre the plate out to get access to the heating element.

Many thanks for all your help here – it’s much appreciated. Now for tacking that element!
The plate showing model number had a wee bit of grease on it – should have used a better torch! 🙂

Forgot to ask – does it matter too much if the element is 2200w or 2500w – that one you highlighted sounds very good value for money.

Not really, no.
Just means it heats very slightly faster or slower but not so much as you’d likely notice.
