Help please. Got one of these Hoover t/dryers that is not starting- i.e. the drum`s not going round. Only thing that seems to work is the condenser pump! Door m/swt ok, had a look at the pcb which visually seems ok but I have my doubts based on not a lot! Any one had this problem before? Thanks.

    Motor start capacitor?

Occurred to me too but not humming and the drum does not move when flipped by hand from under the lid- it would if the cap had gone.

Dunno TBH what I can do to help other than send you the test sheet. Email me if you want one (remind me of model etc if you do).

Looking at the circuit diagram on Connect I would suggest checking out the pressure switch – it should have continuity between 1 and 2 on the switch (if it is awkward to access then try checking for continuity between pins 1 and 3 on the 5 pin connector to the board). It looks like the live feed for the motor and heater are through this switch.

Thanks Martin and Jem, will contact you when I go back- but just been told that the customers are off for a week anyway. Think I`ll order the pcb and see what happens when I go back, seems like a similar senario to how the boards went wrong on Hoovers previous efforts.

I was wrong, Martin right. Well done . Capacitor was the problem. Just as well as the module looks as though it has to be configured which I cannot do. Thanks for your help.
