I have recently moved into a house which has an integrated fridge and freezer. They are separate appliances, fridge on top of freezer. Make of both is System 600 which I have never heard of, must be very old! They are built in with wooden doors on the front to match the rest of the kitchen. The freezer has stopped working and the fridge is not much better.

We are looking to buy a new integrated fridge/freezer which has a width of 55cm and a 50/50 fridge/freezer split. Can anyone recommend a good make/model to go for?

    Kind Regards

Though obtaining one and at a reasonable price would be a big challenge.

If you can’t make those prices then the next best one would be a Gorenje.

Thanks for the replies. I am considering the Bosch KIV32A50GB Integrated Fridge Freezer, A+ Energy Rating, 55cm Wide from John Lewis.

Where can I actually go a see one before buying? as I would like to measure the height of the doors and make sure the 50/50 gap will match are existing doors.

Go on the Bosch website and then download the installation guide for that model. It gives all the measurements you need on there.

Hi Martin, I just did that but it doesn’t give you any measurements, just pictures for fixing the hinges.

Hmmmm? I think the reason that info is not downloadable is because it appears it is NOT a current model. Only the latest are on the Bosch web site. However whoever you choose to buy this from (John Lewis for example) will have a copy of the installation measurement they could photocopy and check to see if it fits in your house. 💡

Thanks for the diagram, not sure how you managed to find it.

My recess dimensions are Height 197cm Width 56cm and depth 57cm. The kitchen unit doors are 50/50 split and the Height of each door is 100cm by 60cm width.

Does the split between the kitchen unit doors have to match the new appliance door split exactly?

Seems silly that Bosch only give you the installation instructions for the latest model when shops don’t sell the latest model and if you buy one and it doesn’t fit they will blame you for not checking dimensions even though they don’t provide them or don’t have one in store for you to look at first.

    Regards

Google is a wonderful tool when the correct key words are entered 😉 I found the info on the Bosch site 😀

As for the doors take a couple of photos of the existing installation into a reputable kitchen supplier who should be able to offer you advice and an installation service.
