an anyone please advise how to remove the timer outer knob and inner bush on a Zanussi TC460 Tumble Dryer. The handle turns round freely with no resistance so think that something has broken. Hopefully not the timer itself.

    Many Thanks

    William,

Simply depress the small tap on the inner knob slightly, at the same time twist the outer knob anticlockwise a few degrees and it should then come away!

    Martin.

    Many Thanks.

Sorry to be a pain with a clarification question. Does the whole assembly just pull straight out first before you separate the two parts in the way you describe ?. Not sure if I was describing the parts with the correct names. Looking on a spares site, I see an outer knob cover (the part I can see from the outside) and what is called “Timer Knob Inner Bush” which looks like a plastic cylinder with a number of protrusions at one end (to fix it to the outer handle on one end and the timer shaft on the other?).

    Many Thanks

Yes William, the Inner Bush is the part with the tab on it. Now the outer knob (the one you turn) has a visible slot in it and you will see the tab within that slot. Press the tab and turn the knob to release that tab…OK?

Your help is much appreciated. I will give it a go when I get home tonight. Hopefully something has just broken on the inner bush, causing the outer knob to rotate without operating the timer.

    Many thanks again.
