KeymasterCan some one help me with a problem with my Smeg dishwasher
Its an intergrated model about 2-3 years old and I dont have the model numer only a hand book that tells me how to use it.
However it does have a page showing fault codes that relate to certain LED’s flashing. It has 5 different settings for washing, each has a separate LED to show which setting you have chosen. The LED on the extreme righthand side as you look down on the programming consul is now flashing and the door will not lock.
Also I can not change to any other program. Can you helpFebruary 8, 2005 at 7:44 pm #125426Martin

Don,
I’m afraid we need that Model number in order to help. Likely situated on the side of the door 😉
Should start DWD, DWF something like that OK?

I have a SMEG DWi 612C integrated dishwasher about 18months old. It is showing illuminated leds on two of the wash settings and flashing on another. The select button beeps when pressed but apart from this no response from the dishwasher. Any Ideas? Is this a PCB problem? Does it come down to a particular component? Where do I get a reasonably priced replacement PCB. HHHHEEEEELLLPPPPP!

ParticipantColin,
Going from the left, please detail which 2 leds are lit. The combination tells us a code to indicate where the fault may lie. Don’t panic about replacing PCB. Yet, anyway.Regards,

You may be able to flick the latch back by pushing something into the the slot in the door and rolling the latch back over, or the console may be broken where the lock mounts. Unplug b4 doing anything.

Penguin45.Dear Mr Penguin,
The dishwasher has as you will know 5 LEDs. From the LHS the 1st and 4th are lit and the 5th is flashing. I hope you can help.

Hi Colin,
The lights point to the famous E6 fault. Simply put, the machine is not draining within the specifed time allowed by the computer. So…….. blockage, kinked drain hose, choked sink coupling or the water level sytem is blocked, causing the computer to think it’s full when it’s not.Do nothing without oulling the plug first…..
Regards

Mr Penguin,
I cant believe the response time 10/10. If I survive the electric shock hazard, flood risk and bio hazard I will keep you updated of my progress. I’m away to clean the tubes out..so to speak!
Cheers for now

ParticipantIn that case Colin, it points to a failure in the water level control system. This can be extremely complex to resolve, so it’s probably time to bite the bullet and get some pro help.
Check Directories or Repairs@ for a UKW repairer in your area.
Regards.

Colin,
The flood protection system has tripped – the undertray of your machune will be full of water. Draining it will reset the computer, but you still have to find the leak.Do nothing without pulling the plug first.

Penguin45. 🙁 😉I pulled out the plug to isolate and checked for no kinks and blockages.I took the machine out and found in the bottom only a plastic/fibre cover protecting the motor/pump and heater connection. No undertray or drip tray that I could see.All was dry and in good condition , connections tight.
I then remove the front cover and connections from the Circuit board and replaced them one at a time .Switching power on/off as i did it this seemed to do the trick and its WORKING , thanks for giving me the urge to try and find the fault. Thanks Pengiun regards Colin J

Hi, i have an intergrated Smeg DWI45.1 Dishwasher with 3 lights (from the left) lit up and flashing. The 4th one is not lit and the 5th one is lit constantly.
I’ve had a look in the troubleshooting section of the manual but there is no reference to such a problem.
Any ideas as to what the problem is???

It sounds like the PCB (timer) has tripped. There is plenty of information on this within these forums.
Do a search for Smeg AND reset or Diplomat AND reset and you should find the reset procedure.
