ParticipantIs it me or is our industry now seen as the next way to get rich quick?
With the Advent of our friend with NAC ,now we have MAAC,NHS,And a host of others, not forgetting GO Local in its various permutations,as well as EEEsafe doing what they do,it just seems like we are being targeted.

Can’t disagree in the face of the evidence to hand.

Trouble is they get all the money, we get all the grief.
I see Andy Craw, formerly NESN, JTM, NESN has now joined an outfit based in India doing exactly the same.

I wondered where he’d pop up again.
Word has it that NESN are all but ready to pull the plug on whites totally. I’m going out on a limb by guessing that installing Andy Craw probably didn’t help them other than to reach that conclusion.
You are absolutely spot on though Alex, they take the cream and leave all the grief to the repairers and I don’t think that’s fair at all.
I think they just see it as a way to make an easy buck off the backs of others.

This perhaps needs to be in another thread but is related; who is this John Cohen as per NHS come Jamie Parrie Ade Whelke?
I’ve never heard of him in Electrolux circles, and he isn’t to be found on Linkedin.

😆
Lawrence and I both did the same and, we can find no trace of this guy either. Seemingly he doesn’t exist.
I suspect strongly that it’s a fictional character.

Maybe he’s gotten the message.
Or, I can but live in hope.
On another note, MAAC may well be another incarnation of our pals at GoLocal as Bryan seems to think and, there’s a bit of a whiff about it to support that. No smoking gun mind but, the distinct whiff of expelled gunpowder.
I don’t think we’ve heard the last of either though I hate to say. 🙁
The problem is, while there’s those out there that will take the work hoping to make a buck, there will be those that will take the p!ss.
Now if we had a trade body to endorse these things as being pukka and we had the credibility and criteria in place to make it stick and be accepted, that might just make a difference. Step up Mr Carey and the WTA if you feel that it’s a doable thing.
If these things had to be vetted it would make many of these problems just vanish overnight in some part, probably large part.
The obstacles are, setting the criteria and the time or labour to vet them.
But, even what we did using a simple credit check for the troops is better than a kick in the nether regions or, blind hope. And, it is something that most repairers have no access to do.
