ARISTON LSI45/50 dishwasher

❓ Anyone familiar with ariston integrated LSI45/50 dishwasher.
This one refuses to start.
When program button is held in while swithing on the mains on/off, there is a brief beep sound, then the first green light comes on briefly.
If the program button is pressed repeatdly before the green indicator goes out, then various combinations of green indicators come on.
At no time can the indicator for rinse be made to light; the combination of indicators seems to go through a sequence while the prog button is being pulsed. ❓ Is there an interpretation for these indications.
When the prog button is left then all indicators are quickly out.
Indeed this whole behaviour happens only every other time that the initial switch on is performed; the beep sound can be heard every time.
