Keymasterthe fridge is staying on too long and freezing the interior.
Ihave removed the plastic cover carrying the thermostat, and another small cover on the back of the switch part of the stat.
there is a screw which controlls the position of the switch rocker, which when turned switches the pump on and off.
Any ideas how to set it up please.February 10, 2005 at 1:57 pm #125561Dave_Conway

Are you trying to calibrate the thermostat ?
To be honest, I wouldn’t bother as it probably won’t make any difference and they are relatively cheap to replace (normally £12-£15).
Can you post the model number of the fridge/freezer and any identification numbers on the thermostat, I’ll give you more details then regarding a repalcement.

KeymasterRe: Beko fridge thermostat
Thanks Dave,
the fridge is a beko type NL 710 ,model 6161363124 serial No illegible
On the stat is Ranco k59p1681 93 30 2p25
9002 750400I phoned a company beko recommend for spares and they can do a stat for £24, inc vat & delivery.
Is this a good price?? Fitting the stat body & wires are easy but the capillary disappears into the side of the fridge . Can the bulb be pulled out? or would it be ok to have the bulb of a new stat inside the fridge.
A new kitchen is planned, so I only need a stopgap
all the best desperate dan………

Yes, you pull the capillary (bulb) out and push the new one back down the tube, it won’t react correctly otherwise.
The price quoted is correct for the genuine Beko thermostat but a universal Ranco K59 (VT9) would do the trick just as well.
These are in the shop@ here:

And quite a bit cheaper 😉
The only difference will be the length of the said capillary which may be longer on the universal type, you will need to carefully coil any excess inside the thermostat housing (don’t kink it as they are gas filled).
I can get the genuine one as well if required, just email me at spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and I’ll let you have more info.
