ParticipantHi All
Had to remove the inner seal and have taken the spring off (outer still on).
I had to remove a sock that had got jammed between drum/casing…
How the heck do i refit it ? The front of the machine does not look removable unless i break the welds/reattach with self tappers ?
Anyone advise ?
Thanks

Take the front of the seal off and start from scratch. Don’t attempt to remove front, it can be done easily from the door

Only if it has the full spring clamp to hold the seal to the drum, if it has one of those stupid wire clamps then you will struggle. 😥

Yep they can be a bit of a problem if you haven’t done one before, I created new swear words the first time I did one 🙂

Went to an Indesit washer/dryer in Uppermill a few weeks ago, same basic model as this.
Complaint of kitchen flooded, it transpires that another local firm had refitted the door seal a year or so ago, obviously couldn’t get the wire clamp on so had just glued the seal back on with DEBHOR. :rolls:

They should be shot for that
I’ve heard lots of different ways to get the clamp back on, I find the easiest way is to get it on 3/4 of the way round and then just lever it over the lip. Have done a few this way now

It is a spring on the inner drum.
So i need to remove the outer spring and fit inside first ?

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HDMost people are walking away from the said machine due to the hook and wire clamp, not me as I found a nifty trick using cable tie.

Mine is one big spring on the inner, not removed the outer yet.

17 or 24 gauge stainless steel wire cut to length, eye loops on each end then twist to tighten really tight (cable tie not strong enough IMHO) using one of these tools….

AFAIK know Martin, the people who use a cable tie are not securing the clamp with it, it is used as an extra hand to hold the two ends as close as possible to assist re hooking the clamp.

Correct, zip it as tight as you can then hook the ends together
Still do it my own way though
