ParticipantCan anyone tell me the part most likely to cause the oven not to be as warm as it should be?
My wife set the main fan-assisted oven to 200 deg for 1 hour to cook the sausage meat and other stuff for our Xmas dinner and we were surprised to find that they were warm rather than piping hot after this time…we tried cooking something else last night and had the same results.
I should point out that she knows her cooker/oven inside-out and it definitely is a fault, she didn’t make a mistake withe her cooking times or anything…the fan is working and the element heats but the oven is not as hot as it should be…she also said that she noticed the fan that comes on to cool the oven down at the end of cooking didn’t come on.
So what is the likely cause, element, potentiometer or energy regulator, temperature probe…could the probe cause such a fault.
A quick answer would be appreciated as she’s planning on cooking a meal on New Year’s day for friends.December 27, 2013 at 2:42 pm #406777iadom

If the oven light ( if it has one ) stays on when it is not reaching right temperature then it points to an element fault rather than the oven control stat.
Could be the base element or the main oven element at fault. electrical testing of these needed, with the machine isolated from the mains.December 27, 2013 at 5:39 pm #406778ipaqowner

This afternoon I removed both oven elements and measured them, the circular element around the fan measures 31.7 ohms and the one screwed to the oven top measures 23.9 ohms so they’re both okay.
Anyone care to point the finger at another likely suspect then?December 27, 2013 at 8:28 pm #406779iadom

Could be the sensor probe from oven to power board or a fault on the power board. 😥
A faulty probe should show an F03 fault in display though.

Thanks for that.
An update, tonight my wife was cooking with the main oven and F01 appeared in the display…I had a look and the fan at the rear of the oven…the one surrounded by the circular element wasn’t turning…I presume this is the one that assists in circulating the heat throughout the oven as in “Fan Assisted”…could this be the reason for the fault and the error display?
Can you tell me what F01 in the display signifies?December 28, 2013 at 8:27 pm #406781iadom

Not good news I’m afraid, F01 is supposed to signify a fault on the main PCB. 😥
There are no fault codes relating to the fans. A faulty main oven fan would drastically affect the cooking performance though.
The fan is listed as around £67.00 there are very decent pattern alternatives though. The power board is more of a problem, around £100 but needs to be programmed, either by an Indesit engineer or by using a £17.00 smart card and a £100 card reader.

My better half decided not to spend any more money on it and today we went to Currys and bought an AEG 49002VMN cooker getting delivered tomorrow.
I appreciate you taking the time to reply and all your help.
Seasons greetings.
