Just got back from a job today. i’m the second company to come out to this w/m with a scraping noise. i said on the phone that it might be a bra wire stuck caught between the tub and drum.
When i got there, the machine is in bits except for the drum. i asked what happened and i’m told that the chap before stripped it down looking for the noise (didn’t find it though) that’s not the scary bit, the scary bit is he asked to borrow tools from the customer 😯 no test equipment, no screwdriver, no nothing. the customer wouldn’t give me the name unfortunately.
turns out it was a bra wire caught in the heater 😀 but on a more worrying note, how many “engineers” like that are out there?Re: wtf?!
You cannot always believe what the customer tells you if he would not give a name.
He may have taken it apart himself but did not like to look a fool.

never do. but i’ve been to a few jobs recently where the previous chap has caused havoc, perfect person for bbc’s rogue traders, i miss that show 🙁
