Neff larder fridge k4664
Am i right in thinking some modern fridges dont have a conventional thermostat? That they r controlled by a pcb which u need to change when faulty? In which case how do they assess the temp. Is the fact that interior light doesnt go off completely a sign that the pcb is faulty? Thankyou
Hi
Yes a lot of fridges use NTC electronic probes that plug into a pcb. Often interior lights are controlled by a magnet in the door closing on a reed switch behind the plastic of the fridge body. The switch can go faulty but equal the PCB can as well.
Thanx. In fact i found that the interior light being dimly on is because of the cool ambient room temp & is not a fault on this model. A new pcb acted in the same way until we heated up the room. Its a pity u have to change an expensive pcb rather than a thermostat but hopefully its more long lasting. Could u tell me what NTC stands for please? Tx again
