ParticipantHi,
Having problems with Bosch SGS6612GB/12 in that when the “auto” program is used it will fill properly, do the initial pre-wash, drain, open the soap dispenser and then fail to fill with water for the main wash! If I open it up at this stage I find the soap tablet on the bottom with no water but if I put a few kettles full of water in then it finishes properly…..The simpler programs seem to work in that the rinse program completes properly as does the “quick 35” program. On the quick 35 the water heats up fine. This tells me that the inlet valve is working properly, the motor is working, the heater is working and that none of the tubes are blocked – so what’s left to go wrong? Control panel perhaps?
Any suggestions would be welcome….

It’s not giving me that same message. I would suggest you check the water inlet matrix, the pressure chamber and transfer pipe before making any further guesses. 😀

Thanks for the reply – I confess I haven’t spent long on this as I’ve been using the “Eco 50” program which works fine despite the problem in auto mode.
Yesterday I removed the left hand side panel and could see that both the left hand side of the manifold at the top was all black and gunky as was the little float / switch bit on the lower right hand side.
I guess these need cleaning or replacing? Can anyone explain what is different about the auto program that stops it working when the Eco program seems fine?
Thanks again for your help….

Auto operates via the readings from the Turbidity sensor. Eco is just a quick wash with no frills. Your machine is gunged up, as I thought. 😉

Well I took out and cleaned the pressure valve or whatever it is on the lower RHS looking at the machine with the LHS side panel off. Put it all back and that seemed to fix it.
Although I confess I don’t really understand why that being a bit gunged up allowed simple programs to work but not the auto.
Still – thanks Martin – all seems OK again.
😀
