ParticipantHi there im wondering if anyone has a clue to this problem.
I just purchased a secondhand beko wm5100w washing machine from a friend. I have seen this machine working first hand and know that it works. during transport it was not droppped or banged but it was raining a little during carrying it from the house to the van and then from the van to my house but it wasnt out in it for long at all. The problem that i have with it is when i first got it home and plugged it in it did not show any sign of life when plugged in so i left it sitting for a few hours unplugged then tried it again and the ready light lit up then after a few minutes some of the other lights came on and flickered and then i got no lights at all. Now when it is powered on the ready light at the bottom comes on but you select a program and press start and nothing happens at all the door does not lock and it does not start the program. id like to know how to fix this as i know the machine works. i have tried turning it off switching the program to 90 degrees turning the machine on and holding start for 5 seconds turning the machine off and then on and selecting a program and pressing start but the machine is still the same with no change PLEASE PLEASE HELPDecember 31, 2013 at 7:24 am #406936captaincaveman1

Have you tried a different socket firstly??? If so then if you tilted it over to the right when transporting it then any residue water that was in the soap drawer may now of got into the circuit board.

i cannot remember if the machine was tilted to the right when it was transported it could be a possibility. do u think i should take the lid off and check the circuit board and dry it if it needs it?

i have tried several different sockets, changed the plug and even changed the mains wire but with no change to it i didn’t think to check the circuit board.

i have opened the lid and had a look at the circuit board i didn’t see and dampness to it at all but just in case i used a hair drier on a gentle heat and went over the board just in case there was any dampness.Waited a few minutes and then turned it on the solid green light came on for about 5 seconds and then it started to flash brightly and then it dimmed until i could just see it flashing then it went a bright solid green for 5 seconds again and then repeated the cycle again and again flashing dimming then solid green again. can anyone tell me whats wrong with it or is the machine knackered???

Check to see if any wires have been dislodged during transport, its quite likely that is its moved without the transit bolts being i that the inner drum/tub mooved about too much & maybe tugged off a cable somewhere, i’d be checking the cable loom to door lick first. 💡
Power off of course ❗
