Hi ~ happy New Year to one and all.

This is my first posting and I’m hoping someone can help me.

We have a CDA double oven and last night (New Year’s Eve) the seal on the bottom oven ‘separated’. Fortunately, the meal was cooked so didn’t ruin the night!

The model is 980 SS and it seems that the bottom join of the seal has been held together with a small metal bar which attaches to both ends of the seal. There are four corner prongs holding the seal in place, but there appear to be two prongs missing at the bottom of the seal which would stop the two ends of the seal sliding apart.

There are no gaps where they should be, so they’ve not been lost! Do we have the wrong seal? How do we keep the tension on the oven housing to prevent the seal pulling apart? Should the seal separate in the first place?

I know we can buy another seal but if this is a design fault then I’m not sure I’d want to waste my money if it’ll happen again.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Chris H

Order up another seal, clips will be in it when it comes.
