Hi recently moved home and after 3 weeks moved the fridge into kitchen. Left it to stand for 24 hours and plugged in. After some time later I noticed it has gone off so first checked the fuse then changed it. It came on and i went out. Again when i came back it was off. This time after changing the fuse there was no noise at start-up although light were on and it promptly blew the fuse a third time. Model ZFK 47/52RF. Any suggestions? (binnin’ it not one!) 🙁

Dampness caused by defrosting while on the move has caused this I would imagine.

Possibly either the thermostat or the compressor start device have been damaged.

Neither of these are expensive repairs generally, you will need an engineer to check though with the correct test equipment.

Replacing the fuses and letting them keep blowing, can and will cause more damage.

Take a look at repairs@ and the directories for an engineer in your area, or pop you postcode up here.

Call charges vary quite a bit really and are best discussed with your chosen engineer.

As you are in Sheffield, go to repairs@ or hit the big toolbox on the right as I know there are reputable companies in your area that will be able to help 😀

    Dave.
