    Hi all,

I am looking for a new vacuum.

    – Tile floors
    – Throw rugs
    – 2 cats
    – not too loud
    – not interested in hepa filters, expensive and useless
    – something that rolls behind the hose, canister or upright I guess is what these are called.
    – We use 110V here, and I think each outlet is rated at not more than 1500W max, so…
    – not interested in dyson or philips.
    – something small like the link I provided below, that is our current one.

    Below is more information.

We have all tile floors where we live and have some throw rugs that we need to vac from time to time. Right now we have a Hitachi CV-T4. Full spec with photos here: http://hibid.hinet.net/biditemdetailact … sn=1492386. It has two numbers on the back one says 300W and another says 1400W and I am not sure why… It only has one speed, so I believe it should probably be a 300W vac. Sorry for the Chinese there, but this vac was made for the Asian market and that is where we live.

This vacuum has served us well for about 8-9 years, it was cheap, it has quite a bit of sucking power, however it’s old and it’s loud and it using a bag. From what I see from newer machines is that bags probably aren’t needed anymore to collect all the dirt, but I could be wrong.

we are not interested in dyson products as I find them to be even louder and people here have complained that they are not all they are cracked up to be… I am interested in electrolux, but I am not thrilled with the price. Sometime similar to the Hitachi would be fine, without HEPA filters as I find them expensive and useless. I am willing to pay upwards of 200 pounds for a decent vac, similar size is fine, or smaller with awesome sucking power would be great, without getting any louder.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

We do not need a wet/dry though they do look not bad, but too bulky we have no place. And one important thing, we do have 2 cats that shed like mad…

    Thanks!

A vac in Asia? Does our knowledge stretch that far?

Were you trying to be sarcastic? Whatever you can get there, I might be able to get here… If not, might be able to find something eqivilent…

    Hi

IIRC form a thread a while ago Miele and Sebo are available in your parts.

Sebo would be my first choice 😉

Hey Don, thanks. I found Sebo here and it looks nice, but they are way out of my price range and it looks like they are using HEPA which I don’t want. I will do a little more research on that though, thanks for your suggestion.

    Others?

Why are you not interested in Dyson? Just wondering.
Anyway I would suggest the classic Hoover or Dirt Devil vac.
