    Hi
I have NEFF H5430N0GB microwave and the off switch has stopped working.
The oven works fine, and stops at the end of its preset time but if you want to stop prematurely the off switch doesn’t work, so all you can do is open the door to switch it off.
Can this be repaired cost effectively ?
How does the control panel come off ?
If I got it off would I be able to find a replacement switch of the right dimensions ?

A new control panel, including the switch is £190 but a new oven, with guarantee , is only £285.
    Suggestions appreciated.

    Hi Martin
problem sorted. It took me a while to find out how the front panel comes off . For future reference there are two screws on the inside near the top. You unclip the electrical connections then undo these screws and the panel lifts up and out.
Once off I could see that the problem was indeed a broken lug on the Off microswitch. There wasn’t enough sticking out to solder to so I started looking on the internet for a replacement with the same dimensions. There are lots of similar ones available but it was difficult to judge which would fit. Then I realised that the control panel uses the same switches for all the other buttons, many of which we never use. So I unsoldered another one ( M1 ) and soldered it in place of the OFF switch. Job done.
Your right, it’s not economic if you are paying commercial rates for a professional, but it took less than one afternoon and I saved £285. That’s a good return by my reckoning.
