ParticipantHi Folks,
I’ve done the job now, but what a palaver.
In the end, and after removing the lid and the whole of the front, I took out the motor and the heater duct and drum assy, wrapped the belt round the lot, put it all back in the case, bolted down the motor, turned the whole thing up side down so that the drum/heater assy was hanging by the belt from the motor in order to line up and insert the screws holding this assy to the rear panel.
Is there an easier way?
Very grateful for any help

Not sure if it was the same model but i managed to take the fan off and the support screws for the drum, fed the belt round the motor pulley and halfway round the drum then just turned the drum to get the belt all the way on. I then levered the drum up slightly to refit the drum fixing screws

Actually I think that would have worked on this one, but sadly didn’t spot the possibility till too late. Thanks Any, I’ll try that next time.

Have to admit I started to take the front off but realised it wasn’t going to get me far

Not the same model you refer to Andy. The belt on these has to be fitted via front panel and drum support/front duct removal.

Hi Martin,
So is there a better method than the one I adopted?

You only need to remove the front duct in order to place the belt around the drum. No need in removing the drum or the motor.

Hi Martin,
Problem is getting the belt around the motor spindle. The motor spindle projects rearwards through the heater chamber, so even with the belt slipped onto the drum it would not be possible to get it onto the spindle.

I’m sure that’s the model no after checking. I took fan off and fed belt through the hole then over the motor itself.

Yep, sorry,my mistake, it’s a Gorenje made machine, fan off and all that Andy mentioned.
