I have a problem with this washing machine. When we switch it on it gives us ten flashes on the power led and doesn’t take in water. It then tries to pump out any water left in the machine and the dial constantly clicks on. I have emptied all the water and checked the pump for blockages, and i have also taken off the hoses at the back and checked the water flow into the machine. Its fine and i soaked myself in the process…..

    Any thoughts?

It’s to do with water level control Bob. The air chamber under the machine may be clogged and trapping air or the level switch in the top may be faulty.

Do nothing without pulling the plug first. :plug:

    Re: Ariston Margherita A1535

Sorry to hijack this thread.. but this sounds like the problem I am having.

Ariston Margherita A1535 Advantage, 18 months old. When started, it draws water for about 5 seconds with the LED lit, then the LED goes out and the flow stops. It then pumps the water out. Following this the dial clicks round continuously and the LED steadily flashes once on, once off.

I have checked the filter and removed some coins, also checked the pipes out to the spigot.

    Any advice appreciated!!

One flash or F01 is a motor control error, but in the past blockages cause nearly all the faults on these.

Have you checked the filter again since refilling it ?

If you’re going to look any deeper, please remember to unplug !

Thanks for the reply. I had a quick look inside with the power isolated, all the connections look fine, nothing obviously wrong and no blockages.

I since noticed that changing the temp control from * (auto) to max made the machine fill and rotate the drum a few times, it seemed to fill for a few seconds and then rotate, fill and rotate, then the error returned.

To clarify it is ten LED flashes, not one as I thought previously.

    So it is!
I have had a look with power off, am I right in thinking the air chamber is the funnel shaped rubber hose connected to the underside of the drum… it feels like it has a ball inside it! Can I just disconnect it and check for blockages?
What would I look at with the level switch (and where is it!!)… happy to look at things as I am an engineer although this is not my field.

T – due to all the restrictions placed upon us these days I can’t be more specific (See the “Advice” post up at the top). Sufficed to say that the funnel can get sludged up and the level switch is at the other end of the the skinny rubber hose…….. It ought to go “click” when pressurised 😀 .

    Power off please :plug:
