I’ve just replaced the drum bearings on my Zanussi Timeline 1400 but wasn’t sure which way round the front bearing seal went. When I put the drum back together I noticed a bit of resistance in the drum rotation as if the drum was rubbing against the seal which lead me to think that I may have put the seal in the wrong way round, but now it’s in, I dont seem to be able to get it out without potentially damaging it. Before I buy a replacement seal does anyone no which side should face the bearings. One side is completely smooth which is the side facing the drum at the moment.
Thanks for the info but gave up on it in the end because of various other issues. Bought a used Bosch washer dryer on ebay only to discover that the dryer doesn’t heat up, so possibly not the washing cycle either
(although haven’t checked yet).
Would this be the heater element?
If so is this straightforward to replace?
Cheers
