My washing machine threw a paddy

I’ve just gone to empty my washing machine (beko wmb 81241lw) as it said ‘end’ and it was still foamy as if the cycle hadn’t worked properly. We turned it to a rinse cycle and then it just stuck on the program, the timer stayed showing 15 mins and the machine was just humming the whole time. We tried holding the start button in to cancel the program but it didn’t respond and fortunately We managed to turn it off and get the laundry out but it’s unusable right now. There’s about 1cm of water in the bottom of the drum now :/ my husband undid the hose under the sink and nothing seemed to be blocked or anything but I appreciate it could be lots of things. Going to check the drain at the bottom this morning but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
