ModeratorStrange one this. Out of warranty, complaint of no spin.
Every time I have tried it on my last three visits it has spun perfectly, brushes less than half worn, gave all the motor plug connectors a good tug etc. Advised customer on OOB problems but they insist they are now taking great care with loading.
I know the OOB is on the sensitive side on these but they have had the machine over 6 years and this problem has only just surfaced in the past few months.
Tried it with a full load of towels in it today and after three attempts to distribute it ramped up to spin. She has just rung to say that the exact same load I left in the machine has once again failed to spin?
Any known intermittent issues with these, not had one like this before.

In short, not that I’m aware of or, I’ve never seen a similar report.

Although the comm and brushes look in good order there is a bit of noise from the motor which sounds like it is coming from the brushes but no sign of arcing excessively. ❓

There’s only really the motor to look at, could the tacho be loose or faulty?

I have checked all the connections etc. it actually washes perfectly and a tacho fault would affect all motor actions, a weird one for sure.

I assume you checked the pressure chamber side of things?
Its always worth sticking a new belt on as well.February 6, 2014 at 10:17 pm #409094kwatt
KeymasterRe: ISE/BEKO spin problems?
That is true Tim, the belt does all the OOB work in a way in that if it slips even a little it’ll perhaps detect a false OOB condition.

Yes, checked fill, empty, pressure switch chamber possibilities, pressure hose and chamber totally clear.. I do recall the Servis machines having spin problems with slack belts but I checked the belt on this and it is fine, no sign of any slippage even when loaded with plenty of towels.

Had one a few weeks ago with similar problem. Motor pickup was eratic and it was the pcb.

The thing is when it is washing the motor/drum action is perfectly normal and smooth.
This afternoon it did stop after one set of revolutions at wash speed on a spin programme and I was unable to cancel the programme, holding the S/P/Cancel button had no effect and I had to switch the machine off.
That is the one and only time I have seen it refuse to spin and stop rotating completely.

You where in the right area. 😉
Diagnostics routine didn’t reveal any obvious faults. On a couple of visits I found I was unable to cancel the programme with the SPC button and had to unplug from mains for a while.
Changed the pcb first, easier than motor. Ran perfectly whilst I was there and apparently did two more washes without error before it failed again on spin.
Changed motor and this time it worked for three washes before failing again.
Replaced original motor and pcb then cut off the motor plug and renewed all connections.
This time it worked fine for nearly a week, she was just about to ring me to say it was now OK when it failed again.
The only other component that I could think of of being involved was the pressure switch. I had one in the box of parts that I was originally issued with but have never used over in seven years.
Changed pressure switch.
She now reports that it has been fine for the last two weeks.
An odd one for sure, I’m guessing the pressure switch is sticking intermittantly.
