I’d be surprised if British Gas don’t have something like this heading there way. I’ve been to 7/8 jobs in the last few months around here, that BG have said “wright off” or “spares not available”. Our guys have fixed EVERY SINGLE ONE!!

That is not why Homeserve got fined. Every organisation has the right to refuse a repair and follow the terms and conditions set out within its contract regarding BER or spares availability.

Similar to clients who assume that on a fixed price repair has no upper limit & insist the £100 fee would cover over three times that price in spares, no the companies simply refund the original price.

Some common sense and understanding of the product your buying has to be the responsibility of both parties, Homeserve crossed the line and misled people, its not that difficult with the majority of people out in the world who simply cannot be bothered or don’t understand basic english until the time it matters.

I came across one the other day 19 yr old Bosch, been faultless for that time, she’s paid close to a £1,000 in insurance and received from D&G 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of its value due to BER. Some people are just born dumb.
