my hotpoint BWM129 washing machine door lock light keeps flashing and won’t start my wash. it was working fine the other day when I used it with no indication anything was wrong. i’ve tried thumping it closed a bit to see if the lock will catch but so far no joy. can anyone help ???

Thumping might relieve the tension but rarely cures the fault.
A 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Indesit machine, could be a faulty door lock or loose motor wiring connections if you are lucky. After that it gets painful and expensive. 🙁

I’ve been using away at my washing machine as normal for the last few months and some days the wash starts straight away and other times it can take hours !
Now the light only flashes when I turn the machine on but when I hit start it goes off and will only come back on again if I slam the door enough to get the wash to start.
Still not sure if it’s worth having someone come to look at it or just get a new one!
