ParticipantHi, can anyone help please? My indesit dryer has suddenly stopped working, it comes on for a couple of minutes, stops and changes directions as it’s supposed to but then after another minute or so it stops and all the lights flash. I’ve tried cleaning the filter, which I do after every cycle anyway, I’ve put the vacuum hose down the hole to get rid of all the lint and I don’t know what else to try. I can turn it off only by unplugging it, then I plug it back in, it comes on for a couple of minutes, changes direction etc etc…. HELP! 😥

Do ALL the lights flash or just some of them, are some flashing and some on steady?
As it is a recent machine we don’t have access to the error codes so a phone call to Indesit may be required.

All the top lights flash together, the clean filter light stays on steady but I have cleaned it so not sure why 😐

That will be an error code but we don’t have that listed ATM. 🙁
Is the steady light in a row of vertical lights, if so can you tell us its position from BOTTOM to TOP, is it the 1st from bottom for example?

I have just checked the Hotpoint TCL models which are the same basic dryer.
Clean filter light is No: 5 from bottom which is supposed to be error code F16.
Sadly that is listed as ‘not used’.
As mentioned before a call to Indesit may be your first option unless you have the required electrical test equipment to go through each component. Indesit appliances are noted for having very flaky electronics TBH. 😥

There are 5 lights horizontally across the top right hand side of the machine, these all flash quickly. The clean filter light is underneath the top right, this stays on continuously. I have a pic but don’t know how to post it. There are 3 lights underneath the clean filter light, these ones don’t come on.

That set up is slightly different to the Hotpoint one, once again I suggest you phone Indesit as we do not have the error codes for that machine yet.
However if that is light four from bottom it could be a heater relay fault, a quite common fault on the main pcb.February 16, 2014 at 12:19 pm #409662fivebyfive
