ParticipantHi,
Fan is working and keeping freezer cold but no air circulating into the fridge, Evaporator is clear. Took the rear panel in the fridge off but no air from the fan coming up the duct which is not blocked.
Don’t understand why this should suddenly happen.
Any pointers?
Thanks

Hi
Put the unit into a full defrost with both doors left open for 24 hrs so that the ducts can clear fully..OR get yourself a steamer and direct the steam up both ducts for about 20-30 mins each till you get the steam going into the fridge.

Hi Bryan,
Went back but knew both ducts were clear as I’d steamed then before.
There was quite a build up of ice again on the evaporator.
Am I right that when it is plugged in again the test procedure should start?
On this the fan cones on after about 20 secs with the compressor. There is no power to the defrost heater, which is fine, during this start up. I thought the heater came on first.
As you can tell this has thrown me so any help begged 😕

Check the defrost sensor and thermal fuse.

Have you been back to check yet.
The 1120 is the newer type sensor.
You need to check the Thermal fuse in the freezer as well as it could be a thermal fuse.
The thermal fuse normally has a Red and Black wire to it and you need to test it is not open circuit.

Hi Bob,
Sorry to come back on this again.
Changed the thermal fuse but she says it’s not cooling the fridge again.
There is a sensor on the bottom of the evaporator (yellow and red plug with 2 purple wires) that’s o/c. can you say whether it needs changing.Connect have no idea, even of a part number. Becoming a bit of a saga.
Thanks again

The sensor should have a resistance depending on temperature.
Freezer evaporator sensor.
If you are not sure then replace it.
You also need to check the heater is ok and the fan is working.
You also need to check the thermal fuse has not blown again if the sensor is faulty.
