ParticipantI have an AEG Competence dual gas and electric cooker model number C41022GM. PNC is 941309676.
The oven takes over an hour to heat up and doesn’t,t reach proper heat levels.
I have changed the thermostat.
I have checked the top element and it operates fine
Fan operates ok but havn,t checked the element
The oven light is not working
I have a feeling the bottom element isn’t,t good- very hard to get any great heat from it. Big problem is I don,t know how to access it to check and replace
Can any one help me get access to bottom element.thanks in advance of help

Assuming this is the main oven that you have an issue with, here’s how you get to the bottom heating element, from the back in short.
However, it can be easily tested for continuity with a basic multimeter as it’s a very simple part, it either works or doesn’t pretty much.
Do keep in mind that the upper and lower elements are only used on certain oven functions, not all of them will use those elements. If you are using a static function or top and bottom heat with the fan then this is likely to indicate that the lower element is probably open circuit.
The lower element for the main oven is shown here: http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/50277383 … ng-element
If you’re running it in fan oven mode and it’s not heating then it will be the fan element that is the likely culprit. Again, easily checked with a multimeter for continuity.
The fan element isn’t cheap, seems only to be used on a few models and is listed here: http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/50277346 … er-element

Hi Kwatt
Thanks for a speedy response.
Hope you don,t mind a follow up question
When you mention coming from the back do you mean from inside the oven or from the back of the appliance.I’m quite happy to work at all the bits and can put them back together again but I just want to make sure that I am starting from the right position
Very grateful for your help

From the back of the cooker itself, it will need to be pulled out.
