    Samsung American style fridge freezer.
    Mod RSH1NBBP S/N B34142BS800139
Usual problem with these fridges, one corner of the fan keeps freezing up + the hole / vent to fan, although the defrost system is working. The fridge was ok for the first few years so is it just a case of the polystyrene panel getting saturated with moisture, and a new panel would cure the problem?

    Any advice please

    Thanks

Yes you will need a new panel. The panels have been modified but only last about 3 to 4 years.

Also make sure the defrost sensor is on the left hand side On the pipe leading to the evaporator.

    also you can fit these
DA8101997A cover support – basically little lugs that fit onto top of panel where ice builds up .

there’s a leaflet with it that shows you how to alter the defrost time etc .theory behind it is heater comes on longer thus stopping ice build up – cough cough

the do help marginally and best fitted with a new cover ,

dont be surprised to see it come back in 18-24 months time
