hello, the (older style) suspension legs on a wma are two bits of foam (or something) that slide up and down inside the outer housing, but they can get dislodged inside (or worn) and wrecked. i know you can get replacement legs which are a new design but i don’t like to throw away something that can be fixed. so has anyone repaired the older style legs? what material did you use for the damper?

    cheers

    Foam????

Good grief, a new set of dampers costs less than £11.00 from Masterpart.

Repair dampers, now I have heard everything. :eeek:

It isn’t the cost, i just don’t like throwing something away that can be repaired.
I know we are supposed to live in a throw away society but if it can be repaired then i’ll do it.

I should’ve pointed out in my first post that this isn’t for a wma, i’m making a type of work bench for a friend and he needs a section of it to be floating. needs about 8 which i have but they are all knacked

The early , flat suspension units where very poor even when new, not worth repairing IMHO.

That fact sums it up nicely and proves how vulnerable dampers are. As you are very much into reconning machines, fitting new dampers is to be recommended, repairing them never an option.
