I have a arriston fridge/freezer mba 3831v (uk) we decided to defrost it simply by turning the right hand knob off (temp regulator knob for freezer) we did the necessary cleaned it all out and switched it back on. The freezer has gone into some kind of safety mode switching on every hr just to adjust the fridge operating temp to 0`c . my manual says to turn the right knob off and then back on and it will fire back up which it does but only for 15 min. tried turning off at wall for a hr then hope will reset no joy. The 3 lights at the top flash and wont go up to temp even after 36 hrs any thoughts ————— help

I must admit, I’ve not seen one of these, looking at the exploded though, what are the two buttons for each side of the rotary controls ?

I’m taking a stab, but try pressing and holding them both in at same time for a few seconds and see what happens.

    Re: fridge/freezer

problem sorted: call out fee to be argued about – wish me luck! The problem was the right hand switch the one for the freezer broken, we turned off the freezer to defrost, thought we`d switched back on and had not. my argument to be discussed with Arriston is: this fridge/freezer is only 2 1/2 years old the knob turned once every 6 months, so 5 times and not designed for the purpose (a poor design) and something i feel reluctant to pay a callout fee on!!! Any advise ?

tricky one that dan, as the manufacturer will prolly argue that age plays a part too (i know 2 1/2 years is far too little time) and the fact that the knob can get damaged by the user also. 😥
