I came down to find the washing washing machine had all lights flashing. I pressed the On/Off button and then the Start/Pause button and there was a flash from behind the panel and the main socket MCB tripped.

I removed the covers and had a look around but couldn’t see anything obvious.

I plugged it back in and switched the socket back on. It flashed again and this time I saw the flash came from the door latch.

One of the wires to the switch was totally blown off, and the other two were bare and most strands were broke.

I have replaced the door latch and made off the ends with new spade connectors. ( I am sure that it is wired correctly)

    MY PROBLEM IS THIS

When turning it back on the door locks as soon as the power is put back on and nothing else seems to work.

The pause light is flashing and when pressing the button the light turns green but nothing happens other than the corresponding light for the selected program lights.

I have removed the ‘ECU’ and a resistor is possibly blow / blackened which I will attempt to identify and replace . This resistor is directly fed from the spade connector that goes to the door latch via a red wire.

For reference purposes the connector is plug no. J004 (Centre spade) and the resistor is just to the right and up from it (when looking at the board with all of the plug sockets at the bottom)It’s number below it is JP003.

If anyone is able to look at a circuit board and confirm for me the colours of the stripes on the blue resister that would be really helpful as one of mine has gone black.
I think the colours of the resirtor are – BROWN,(UNKNOWN), BLACK, ORANGE, GOLD ❓

Am I wasting my time ????????

Oh yes very much so. When the door interlock blows the PCB fries and the EEPROM on the board goes ga ga!

Can this be reprogrammed or do I need a new ‘ecu’ ?

If so how high are these ?
